Housing seekers

To search for our available homes, you need to register and collect points. You can do that easily on My pages. Registration is free and open to anyone over the age of 16. Register today – the sooner the better!

As a housing applicant with Rikshem, you can register from the time you turn 16. You make your registration on My pages. You get one point per day from the day you sign up. If you have been registered with us for a year, you have accumulated 365 points. Your registration is personal and cannot be transferred or inherited by anyone else. It is also not possible to register a co-applicant.

Apartment, student apartment, parking and storage

When you register, you indicate whether you are interested in an apartment, student apartment, parking or storage. When you look for an apartment with us, you approve and accept that Rikshem can collect housing references from current and former landlords. We take credit information on all applicants who are current for screening and contracts. You can go to My pages at any time and add or change your registration.

Residence time

When you live with Rikshem, the residence time for your current rental contract is also counted as points. If you cancel your apartment, but remain as a housing applicant, the points are counted from the date you registered as an applicant on Mina sidor. This means that the residence period is removed in connection with the termination of the rental contract. The residence time is reset to zero even when changing apartments.

When renting apartments with short-term contracts, you keep your points – the points are not reset. Applicants are blocked for six months, but the queue time is counted during the blocking period.

Distribution of available apartments

The apartments that are available for rent via Rikshem are published here under Vacant right now. Vacant apartments are distributed among those who have actively registered their interest and meet the criteria stated in our rental policy . 

This is how you manage your offers of apartments

You can apply for a maximum of six apartments at the same time. You can refuse a maximum of six offers during a period of three months. If you say no to more, you will be barred from applying for other available apartments for the following three months. If we do not receive a response to an offer, we interpret it as a no and the apartment is offered to other customers. If you have accepted an offer, but then regret it, you will be blocked for one year and the points will be reset to zero.

You can choose to subscribe to available apartments, student apartments, parking or storage that match your interest notification by registering it on My Pages.

Distribution of parking and storage

Vacant parking spaces and storage rooms are published here under Vacant right now. The allocation takes place on a first-come, first-served basis, that is to say that the person who first submits an expression of interest is offered a contract. If there is a high demand for parking spaces, in some cases it may be limited which applicants can make a declaration of interest, for example only tenants in the area.

Update your details

To keep your points, you need to update your registration of interest at least every twelve months by logging in to My Pages. We clean our records automatically and a deleted search profile cannot be restored. This applies regardless of whether the deletion took place through the automatic cleaning or if you have deleted your profile yourself.

Regional housing queues

In some locations, our available apartments are brokered via regional housing agencies. To search for these apartments, you register in the respective housing queue:

• Uppsala and Knivsta are mediated via  Uppsala Bostadsförmedling
• Greater Stockholm, Södertälje, Sigtuna, Märsta and Upplands Väsby are mediated via  Bostadsförmedlingen in Stockholm 
• Malmö is mediated via Boplats Syd

The external agencies may have different regulations than those specified by Rikshem, but the allocation of the apartments follows Rikshem’s rental policy.
